Hi! I’m Kate.
The day before Thanksgiving in 2004 I bought a pair of blue size 6 aluminum straight needles, two colors of Red Heart yarn, and the first Stitch and Bitch book. I went home, sat down, and told myself I couldn’t get up until I figured out how to knit. And here we are, over 10 years later.
I started Hello Knitty in 2008 as a way for my family to see the projects I was working on, and through it (and Ravelry, of course) I’ve met some of my closest friends and had the opportunity to go on many yarny adventures. In an effort to further my wool hoarding lifestyle, I took up spinning in 2014.
When I’m not knitting or spinning, you can find me on the lookout for coconut-flavored everything, cross stitching twee things, talking to my cats, daydreaming about travel, reading, and scheming about how often I can get away with eating Japanese food. I live in Lawrence, KS, with my husband, son, two cats, and one cat who thinks he is a human. We humor him.
