I’m enjoying this new format! Can you provide a link to the heel construction method you mentioned? Thanks!

thanks for sharing yet another fun and entertaining episode! kittehs aren’t a distraction, they are a bonus! šŸ™‚ and your sockhead hat looks fantastic!

re: which spindle to learn on, i’d say both! i taught myself how to spindle spin recently and did just that — played around with several different spindles (different in size, model, construction etc) as well as several different kinds of fibre and fibre preps, to find out what works best for me, and what their particular strengths are etc. i find the turkish ones a bit easier to use than the regular top whorl drop spindles, and i absolutely love that the cop on the turkish doubles as a ready-made centre pull ball (perfect for plying from!!) but i love both. i learnt most of what i know so far from abby franquemont’s dvd, the companion one to the book you borrowed from your friend — it’s absolutely amazing and i highly recommend it! best of luck, enjoy yourself šŸ™‚
