My week in pictures

Saturday, 28 May, 2011

Last weekend we visited the Houston Area Live Steamers for their monthly run day.

full train

These large scale model trains are big enough to pull several people, and on one Saturday a month the HALS give free rides on their track, permanently located in a park in Northwest Houston. I was thinking a few people would show up but we ended up having to wait in line for probably a half hour.

BNSF – Burlington Northern Santa Fe. I grew up watching Burlington Northern locomotives.

on train

We were lucky enough to get to ride on the old steamer. The ride took about 10 minutes, and went over bridges, past miniature buildings, and through forested area and fields.

Here is the thing about Texas: if it exists, they will figure out a way to bedazzle it.

100 degrees

So this happened yesterday. WHAT IS THIS I DON’T EVEN.

I’ll post a knitting update soon!

Train looks so fun but you can keep the 100 degrees. Although here it is the very end of May and we were lucky to get in the mid 50’s today…So what is the river? Thanks for sharing!
