The 12:5 Project, Day One

Wednesday, 29 July, 2009

Most people, when on vacation, allow themselves to relax. I am not one of those people.

Today is the first day of a 12 day vacation, and when I was thinking about what I was going to do with my time off the first thing that came to my mind was knitting, obviously. Then I thought, ‘why not set yourself an incredibly difficult set of goals that will require you to knit your fingers to the bone in order to achieve?’ Type A personality, party of one.

So that’s what I’m doing. I’m challenging myself to knit 5 projects in 12 days. Right now I’m thinking it will be end up being a cowl, two hats, a pair of socks, and a shawl. And not necessarily using the yarns shown on Monday, by the way.

The first project is the Felicity hat, using Pigeonroof Studios Siren Two Sport in Corrosion. So far I’ve finished 5 1/2 inches, and have started the increases, which I hope to have done tonight. I’ve set a goal of having this done midway through tomorrow.

Wish me luck!

Good luck! And I love the colors in that swatch. It doesn’t look like Corrosion to me; it looks like chocolate and mint. Andes?

Ooh, 5 projects in 12 days. If anyone can do it I know you can but I am feeling a bit lightheaded at the thought of knitting a pair of socks and a shawl all within 12 days!

Guess who just queued Felicity Hat? 🙂
