State of the Knitting
Say hello to my little friend – Whisper Cardigan 2.0: Not Bigger, Definitely Better, and Less Poolier.
Once again I’m using Sundara Sock, this time in Black over Violet, which is the color that made me fall in love with Sundara in the first place. The Whisper Cardigan in Mint over Toffee has been frogged. I’m sad about it because I so wanted to use that yarn for that pattern, but in the end the color pooling on the sleeves and the back were too different.
The sock on the left is knit in Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks that Rock Lightweight in Alina, and the one on the right is in Have You Any Wool’s Luxe Sock in Satellite, which is a wool/cashmere/nylon blend and is quite possibly the softest thing I’ve ever felt. Both are plain stockinette, because I’m boring like that, and the Alina socks may not be with us much longer. I adore the Alina colorway, and have seen some gorgeous socks knit out of it, but these are less gorgeous and more Mexican fiesta.
And in case you’re wondering, the Roll Edge Cardigan and the Kindred Knits Yoked Cardigan are doing the smart thing and are hibernating until fall. The temp here has been solidly in the high 80’s/low 90’s for the past week, and I quickly got sucked into the idea of light summer knits.
*This was the plan until Wednesday, when my new Namaste Malibu knitting bag (in olive green!) arrived. It is approximately the size of a small studio apartment, and therefore big enough to bring along the socks and my Whisper Cardigan with plenty of room to spare. Want to see a picture of the bag? I found this great picture of it on flickr.
