Confidence Killer

Monday, 2 February, 2009

This weekend was pretty depressing, knitting-wise. I started on a project I’d been looking forward to for some time. I loved the pattern, I loved the yarn. While I stumbuled at first, I knit almost the entire chart in one night and yesterday I was set to finish the first repeat and more.

I didn’t even make it through the first repeat. Six hours were spent working on the same three rows. I had heard the pattern was written in a weird way and that, mixed with my not knitting any lace in months, did me in. I put the project down. Maybe I’ll pick it up again, but my confidence has been distroyed enough for now.

Today I did the natural thing: I started knitting a simple lace project with some really, really beautiful yarn.

Lace Ribbon Scarf, knit with Sundara Sock in Midnight Holly. It was overcast all day and I couldn’t get a decent picture. But believe me, it’s beautiful: true reds, deep dark reds, and cinnamon browns.

Check back tomorrow for something exciting!

Oooh, pretty. Is that the Sundara from your almost-doomed trade? I am still waiting for mine. *sigh*

But Lace Ribbon Scarf. Yeah. I wanna make loads of those! You make it look so easy! Can’t wait to see the final piece.

Ugh, I hate when that happens. Your new project looks lovely, though.
