My Craft Room

Sunday, 18 January, 2009

When Nathan and I decided to buy our house I knew right away which room I wanted for my craft room. It’s the smallest of the three upstairs bedrooms, but has the best light.

Miss Olive and the ugly chair, which I can’t get rid of because it’s so comfortable. The blue and orange striped thing under the light is the first thing I knitted. It’s irregularly shaped because I kept adding stitches, there are several holes, and the color changes were started on different sides because I didn’t know any better. I’m sure I’ll have it forever.

All of my yarn is in these bins, cubes, and the trunk. They’re completely full. The yarn in the clear bins are for sweaters.

I have many, many more books in my living room, but these are either my favorites or books I want to read soon. All of Diana Gabaldon’s books and most of Stephen Fry’s, the Harry Potter series, and all my zombie books. I know they have nothing to do with knitting or other crafts, but I keep them here because I want them to be with the rest of the things I love.

My table and yarn swift. I usually have my ball winder on here as well but I took it off so I could take pictures of my sweater. You can see from this picture that the walls are pale yellow.

I keep all my patterns and craft books on this bookshelf, as well as games for my Nintendo DS and supplies for cross stitch and other crafts.

Andy was there when I was taking pictures too. He was very busy looking around so this was the best picture I could get of him.

Andy loved to sit on the windowsill in my craft room in our old apartment and look outside, but there isn’t anywhere for him to do that in this house. You can buy carpeted ledges for windows, and I’m going to buy one for him and put it in here above my table. He deserves it after putting up with a rambunctious kitten!

Your new craft room looks great. You’re inspiring me to do something with CollegeDude’s room; he doesn’t think he’s coming back this summer. Mine!

    Andy looks shy…
