Knit = 8 points, Purl = 6

There are many, many reasons I love the internet. Chief among them at the moment is that I can go to Facebook and play Scrabble with people who live far, far away.

Man, oh man, I loves me some Scrabble.

Since my sock is the mere shadow of a toe at this point, I thought I might share with you a little something I’ve been putting together since the beginning of the year. I’ve always been puzzled by what to do with ball bands after I start knitting the yarn. It seems silly to keep them, as it’s just more scraps of paper clutter, but at the same time I have good memories associated with them and I don’t want to throw them away. So I’ve started keeping a journal:

It’s just a plain old Moleskine notebook. Each ball band gets a page, and with it a brief description of where I purchased it, what the yarn was knit into, when I made it, who I made it for, and any special notes about the project.

I’ve also been doing a little stash enhancement lately.

Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks that Rock Lightweight in Saratoga, Savannahlite, County Claire, and Seal Rock.

More STR in Moody Blues, Lenore, and Olive Garden.

I have a few more skeins coming. I’ll post pictures, unless I get eaten by a moose this weekend.

    I’m going to save up all my ball bands and eventually decoupage a box with them, I think.

    But I also really like what you’ve done.

    What a brilliant idea on the ball bands! I have been saving them myself for sentimental reasons I suppose but I have them all over the place and some are getting really crumpled. If you don’t mind I will steal this idea and do the same thing. ๐Ÿ™‚
