Laid back
My pictures this week are really, really boring. Sorry about that. It was an extremely average week, with bonus going into work super early because I am slammed and anti-climactic medical drama, sadly sans George Clooney. I would be much more enthusiastic about my upcoming surgery if I knew that dreamboat was going to be at the hospital.

There’s always next year – Saturday, January 12, 2013
Packers are out of the playoffs. I had a feeling they would be, San Francisco is really good this year. Now I don’t know who to cheer for because I could care less about all four teams that are left.

A new day – Sunday, January 13, 2013
Saturday was a rough day for me. I’ve always been really healthy, so finding out the news from the day before threw me for a loop. But I woke up on Sunday feeling loved, and lucky to have my dudes, and it was a much better day. We tried out Charlie’s new ice cream maker (a huge hit!) – vanilla with m&m’s.

I like big books and I cannot lie – Monday, January 14, 2013
Who wants to guess how long it will be until I fall asleep reading and this sucker breaks my nose?

Some of you may remember that I used to work at a library. A collection of postcards came in with the donations, and I saved them from the trash. This is one of my favorites. So delightfully of its time (postmark: 1977), and the note on the back is fantastic. “MADE IT!!!” and in small letters, at the very bottom, “Hope you had a good father’s day.”

Vase full of straight needles. They sit on my desk. Can’t remember the last time I used any of them. Years ago I stuck some fake flowers my brother bought for me in with them, and they’ve been together ever since.

Ice ice baby – Thursday, January 17, 2013
I stumbled out of the house, not entirely awake and ready for the weekend. Then I got to my car, and realized the windows were iced over, and suddenly the world was filled with rainbows and sunshine. I am not even kidding, I was probably grinning like an idiot because cold weather is a rare treat here. I got out my scrapper, and was working on my windshield when my neighbor walked by with his dog. “Is that ice,” he asked. I nodded yes. “That’s terrible!” Oh, Houstonians.

If our family had a spirit animal, it would totally be a giraffe. It’s…a long story.

I am so surprised you would have an ice scraper in your car. Surprised a giraffe is your family spirit animal, can’t wait to hear that story. What no cheesehead pictures…Love you!
I have a similar vase of straight needles! I feel like I used some fairly recently, although I can’t remember for what…
I too use a vase for my straight needles – it’s the perfect way to show off special glass pieces and needles
