Shetland Triangle Shawl #3

24 Mar

When I’m thinking about knitting a shawl the first thing that crosses my mind is the Shetland Triangle Shawl from Wrap Style.

This is the third Shetland Triangle I’ve made in the last year. I used Sundara Yarn Aran Silky Merino, which is a blend of 50% wool and 50% silk, in colorway Sugar n’ Spice.

If I had been at Sundara’s shoulder when it was time to name this yarn I would have suggested something like Caribbean Gold or Pirate’s Gold. That’s what it reminds me of.

Today’s post is the debut of my new camera. I am now the owner of a FujiFilm s8100fd, which is about 1000 times too advanced for me. I’ve never used anything other than a basic point and shoot, so being able to adjust the apature and ISO and many other things is quite daunting. I’m going to have to play around with it for a long time before I figure it out.

Shetland Triangle Shawl, made with Sundara Yarn Aran Silky Merino in Sugar n’ Spice on size 6 needles. Started March 10, finished March 24.

That’s beautiful! The silky sheen of the yarn really brings out the pattern.

Congrats on the new camera, and the new shawl, too! I do love the Shetland Triangle, and I still want to make one in Aran weight. Yum!

That is gorgeous! I envy your shawl/lace skills. It’s such a hurdle for me, but I definitely see the appeal.

Beautiful color! Being sick did not slow down your knitting…actually I guess it is a perfect sicky companion.

The shawl turned out so beautifully. I never thought to try aran silky merino yarn and now that I’ve seen your’s and know I have some in my stash from Sundara I know what I’ll be making.

That’s beautiful! But it’s got to be warm, no? I’m trying to convince myself to use my ASM for this project but as I livebelow the equator it might be too think and warm for me.
