One Tune Knitter

We have socks!

No, I’m not an incredibly slow knitter, I had a family emergency and didn’t work on these for almost a week. I didn’t think this was possible, but there is a point I can get to where I am so fraught with worry and sadness where it isn’t possible for me to knit. Things are OK now, I hope. Or else a certain someone is going to be written right off the list of people who will one day be getting handmade socks from me. How’s that for a threat?

I love these socks. The color couldn’t be anymore perfect. Who would have thought that orange, purple, pink, and green would go together so well? Those Blue Moon Fiber Arts ladies are something else.

But now I face a dilemma. I’m supposed to wear these now. I’m supposed to willingly put my stinky feet in them, inside my stinky shoes, for hours and hours. When I put them on to take pictures I practically tip-toed around my craft room for fear something nasty might leap out of the shadows and soil my new socks. I must think of a way to desensitize myself. Which probably will have something to do with knitting 12 pairs of socks in a row because I am a one tune knitter.
Who am I kidding? I’ve already started on my next pair. You’ll get to see those soon.

They look great! That is a beautiful colorway.
As far as desensitizing, wear them with cute mary janes so you can still look at how pretty they are all day and know you’re not ruining them. <3
Especially if they’re *clear* mary janes! You can see the whole sock, and know that all is well.
When you gave Dad the hand knit socks for Christmas and he said he could never wear them with real shoes you told him they are “just” socks. Now you know how he feels. They are a knockout Sweetheart – wear them you deserve them!

I love it–another Mom comments about her daughter’s accomplishments besides me! 8^) Personally I love the socks, and I have seen clear Chuck Taylors that can be worn with hand-knit socks to showcase the socks! That’s another way to keep them pristine. From the outside anyway. ;^)
There have been a number of family emergencies arise (especially regarding my kiddos) where I can’t knit. Also, I suffer from extreme antepartum depression (while I’m prego) – so it’s a dead on giveaway when I have a babe in tow – I just can’t knit. But I’m finished with the babes – as the show state “Eight is Enough!”
BTW – beeuteefull socks:)
