Let’s play catch up, shall we? These are things I’ve knitted in the past two months.

A squirrel for my mom! The pattern is from Fiber Trends, and it was knitted with Knit Pick Wool of the Andes in Amber Heather and Wheat. I almost scrapped the project because before it was felted it looked so pathetic, but five minutes in the washer was like magic.

This was one of my favorite finished objects ever. I was SO excited to give this to mom on Christmas, and she loved it! And I like it so much I might even make one for myself.

If I wasn’t feeling so lazy today I would take another picture of this sweater because this one just does not do it justice. This is the Tilted Duster from the Fall 07 issue of Interweave Knits, made in Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Black Cherry Heather. I started it about a week before Christmas and finished a week after New Years.

My first lace project ever!

This is the Forest Canopy Shawl from I’m Knitting as Fast as I Can. I used Araucania Atacama, which is 100% Alpaca. It is super soft and I adore the color.

And as it has been nothing but snow and cold here lately, I think this shawl will be getting a lot of use as it looks fantastic scrunched up into a scarf. Doing this project has made me realize how much I love shawls, and I have a number of them on my to-make list.
The last thing I made was my first ever pair of socks. They were a Christmas present for my dad, and they turned out great. I didn’t think to take a picture of them before I gave them to him. I felt very intimidated by sock knitting before I made these, but they are quite easy to make and a great project to toss in my bag and take along with me.

yay! such lovely projects
